Description:
The mountain habitat of Georgia is a combination of Appalacian plateau, Blue Ridge mountains and valleys and
ravines. The area with rocky with large boulders and waterwalls. The changes in elevation result in
a wide variety of vegetation.
Location:
The mountains are in the northern part of the state, extending into Georgia's neighbors to the north and west.
Wildlife:
Georgia's mountain wildlife includes deer, cottonmouth snakes, eagles, wild turkeys, turtles, black bear, raccoon, fox and
a wide variety of songbirds. Fish are also abundant including bass, trout and bluegill.
What do people do there?
People live in Georgia's mountains, but they also go there to play. Recreation includes fishing, hiking
and camping. The higher elevation offers relief from the heat of the summer.
